---An Attempt to Observe the World with a Different Perspective
This idea can be implented anywhere, just use your imagination.
Influenced by other designs, I found that the reflection function of the mirrors has many uses. In my studio last year, I tried to design with mirror-like reflective materials to make the building invisible. This website will be a stage where I can understand this material better, try to use a new perspective to observe the world through the mirrors, and have a better way to serve the public. This is how I found my idea can provide Excess space that could be repurposed for a new public good.
For human history, the first mirror used by humans was most likely dark, still water or water collected in some sort of primitive container.A good mirror requires a surface with very high flatness (preferably but not necessarily high reflectivity) and a surface roughness smaller than the wavelength of light. The first mirrors made were polished stones, such as obsidian (a naturally occurring volcanic glass). Long before production of glass mirror, the ancient Egyptians made mirrors of metal (copper, bronze, silver, tin, etc). They flattened sheets of metal and polished them until it could be used as a mirror. The mirror they produced had rounded shapes, sometimes with ornamentation on the back side, and usually with a handle so that one could easily use the mirror for self-viewing.
Any site with this idea will be reimagined as a magic space.
Nature: Within Mountains.
One possible site which is located within in mountain area, so the mirror can reflect the surroundings. The pins represent the location of the mirrors and the highlight area means the places where can be seen from the mirrors.
Half Nature Half Urban: Deadend extending to disappear.
One possible site which is located on the edge of the sea and it's also a dead end of the road.
Other possible sites are coming......
The project is supplemented by the research I 've provided here. These documents and links help to situate the project within its context and provide information that stakeholder's might need to make decisions about the project.
The following projects are great examples of the type of the project World within the Mirrors will be. These examples will be used to guide the development of the project and as references for the public to better understand the proposal.
